Crash when exiting to menu from the game

The game crashes when the player exits the game to the menu.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start new game or load existing save file.
2. Press ESC on keyboard and select Exit -> To Main Menu
3. Game is very likely to crash before showing Main Menu.

Expected result:

1. Game consistently returning to Main Menu.
2. Main Menu shows game session statistics.
