Flip flop latch flipping randomly in single step mode

The latch single step mode flips around randomly, I'm not sure why. Its stable, it doesent make sense why its doing all of that. Works fine when I run it normally.

I've done the same mistake as you here a couple of times. ;-) The button you're pressing is the "start single stepping" and it also acts as a "re-start single stepping". So each time you press the simulation restarts and the FF is set to a random state as expected.

For single stepping to work correctly you first start the with that button, then you actually step by using the button next right to it.

Im such a noob! Thanks a lot because this is a few headaches worth. Im going to assume the actual step button highlights when there is an update?

yes, it gets highlighted and also the devices/gates in the design so it's easy to follow the propagation of an update in the nets.
