- Copilot Chat Extension Version: 0.43.0
- VS Code Version: 1.115.0
- OS Version: Windows 11
- Feature (e.g. agent/edit/ask mode): Agent
- Selected model (e.g. GPT 4.1, Claude 3.7 Sonnet): Claude Opus 4.6 - High
- Logs: NO Logs
Steps to Reproduce:
Sorry, I'm not sure if this is a bug or issue. When I was using the agent mode of GitHub Copilot and the model used claude opus 4.6, I asked it to manipulate my images.
After damaging my pictures, it went to check Git's submission records without informing me of the relevant issues and seeking my consent in order to recover the relevant content. Even without a Git commit record, it jumped out of the project to search for backups from elsewhere on my hard drive and attempted to recover files. Although it was indeed found, my folder and file names have been changed, and I don't know how it was found, matched, and correctly overwritten.
This makes me very confused and uneasy. I confirm that I haven't given it full permission. When it executes commands like npm run, it always asks me. Why it scans the hard drive but doesn't ask or even tell me.
The whole process was without any prompts, and I wasn't even told that I made a mistake (I discovered it while thinking), trying to pretend that there was no problem and recover directly.
Sorry, I have archived the logs, so I should not be able to find them. I am unable to provide logs for troubleshooting.
